The School is a Language Centre, that is, we only teach languages. It forms part of a quite large net of Language Schools distributed all round Spain. In the bigger ones - for instance, Madrid or Barcelona - you have an offer of more than 20 languages. Ours is more modest and it only has three languages - English, French and German - and nine teachers ( five in the English Department ) Our students are a mixture of adults and teenagers; the minimum age to register is fourteen and at least theroretically - there is no age limit. As this is not compulsory education and we have a large number of adult students, motivation tends to be much higher than in High Schools. Another advantage is that we don´t have to face any serious problems of indiscipline or disruptive behaviour among our younger students. We share the building with a High School. They work in the morning and we work in the afternoon/evening (lessons can start at 3.30 and can end at 10 ).  We  have a language lab, a TV, a video, a camcorder, a satellite dish, a computer and a more or less decent collection of material and books. We have five levels, divided into two cycles. The first cycle - three years - , leads to the “Certificado de Ciclo Elemental”; the second cycle - two years - leads to the “Certificado de Aptitud”, which is probably the most prestigious language degreee given in Spain - apart from university education. Unfortunately, this prestige is not matched by much practical value in the job market or as a door to further education. The level of the” Certificado de Aptitud” comes some way between the Certificate of Advanced English and the Proficiency.
